TASTING
Oaxacan is known as the Mexican food capital. You will experience authentic, delicious food and delicacies of Mexico.
Also, we will visit a maestro mezcalero, who will teach you the mezcal's magic during an exclusive tour.
TRADITIONAL INDIGENOUS MEDICINE
Curanderos (native healer or shaman) are well known in Oaxaca. They operate under various titles such as native healer, witch doctor or shaman. Curanderos often solve some maladies by using spiritual cleansings, essential oils, herbs, incense, and/or eggs.
For those interested in a Zapotec healing ceremony, you will have an opportunity to meet with a well-known curandera, so you can experience a limpia (ancestral energy healing ceremony).
We guarantee you that at the end of this amazing and life-changing retreat, you will begin thinking and dreaming in Spanish!

The full program price for the 8-day (7 nights) adult program has a fee of USD 1,999 for a private room and bathroom with a welcoming host family, or USD 2,399 for a comfortable private room and bathroom in a well-appointed Airbnb.

Where is Hola Everyone Spanish Academy located?
We’re a Vancouver-based organization. Our founder has a good track record of amazing Spanish immersion programs in Oaxaca. Over the last 10 years, she has seen people being transformed by these language/culture programs.
Can my family, spouse, or partner join me for part of the program?
Yes, they can join you for the whole program or for a portion of it. We are happy to arrange this for you. Also, if you prefer, they may be able to skip the private lessons and join the workshops and visits for an additional cost. Please let us know how we can make appropriate arrangements for you.
Can I be accommodated in a hotel or Airbnb?
If that’s your preference, we can do so. However, the accommodations offered with host families offer you the opportunity for human and cultural interaction.
Will my host family speak English?
They may speak a little English. However, we encourage them to not speak English with you, so you can practice as much as possible.
Will I have another participant from the program in the same family with me?
We accommodate one student per host family as this increases your opportunity to speak Spanish. If you are traveling with your spouse, we will place you in the same family.
How are host families chosen?
Our families are screened for: criminal and/or questionable social activity, general ¨likeability¨and friendliness, availability of the family during your time with them, and proximity to downtown Oaxaca.
Can the meals be adapted?
Yes. Host families will try to adapt as much as possible to your specific food requirements.
Is the water safe?
We highly recommend you to use filtered/bottled water as tap water may be contaminated
Is Oaxaca safe?
Your safety is our priority. Oaxaca is one of the safest states in Mexico. Oaxaca is hand-picked because of our familiarity and close ties with the city. We make sure you have the most comfortable and safe experience possible.
Our programs are led by our Program Coordinator and include on-site supervision and involvment from Hola Everyone Director.
How long will the activities be each day?
On average, there are 5-6 hours each day of planned activities such as lessons, workshops and cultural engagement activities. You will always have the free time to explore the city on your own or rest if you prefer.
How will I prepare to go to Oaxaca?
All participants receive a comprehensive student guide that will help them prepare for the immersion experience.
At the individual pre-departure meeting, typically a month before departure, Hola Everyone´s Director meets with each participant via Zoom to review the Student Guide and discuss any questions or concerns solidifying a comfort level.
What should I pack?
Shortly after you register, you will receive in-depth pre-departure information.
All participants receive a comprehensive student guide that will help them prepare for the immersion experience. At the individual pre-departure meeting, typically a month before departure.
Hola Everyone´s Director meets with each participant via Zoom to review the Student Guide and discuss any questions or concerns solidifying a comfort level. If you have more questions before departing, you are welcome to schedule a call with the program coordinator too.
Do you have a payment plan?
Absolutely. The program fee can be spread out over 2-3 payments. Acceptable forms of payment are Visa, Master, Check and Cash.

All of our programs include private Spanish classes, a private room with a host family, breakfasts, lunches and dinners, private pick-up and drop-off at the Oaxacan airport, exclusive excursions & workshops, and a mezcal tasting party. Travel Journal for daily entry, your teachers can give you feedback on your writing skills.
Are there any additional or hidden costs for this program in Oaxaca?
No. The price you will see on this website is the price you are going to pay for the immersion program.
What's not included?
Your travel to and from Oaxaca, your accommodation in Oaxaca on the night(s) before and after the program depending on your day of arrival and departure. Your travel insurance, most dinners, passport and tips are not included in the price of the program.
Can I postpone or cancel a course once I have booked it?
Yes, however, there are some restrictions. Please take a look at our sales terms for more details.
What kind of insurance do I need?
We require you to show proof of your own travel insurance. Usually this is less than $100 and can save you lots of money in case of an emergency. We recommend Travel Insurance for your coverage.
